Every two years HHQ sponsors the Patchwork Harvest Quilt Show as a venue to "show off" what our guild members have been creating over the years. More than 200 hand made quilts, ranging from large bed quilts, miniatures and quilted clothing, will be displayed for visitors during the show. Guild-sponsored projects such as challenge quilts and charity quilts will also be featured. Nine vendors will be at the show, offering their latest favorite wares for the upcoming winter season and each will do product and technique demonstrations.
Quilt guild members have also made and donated small quilted items that will be available for purchase in a small quilt auction. Bids will be accepted both Saturday and Sunday for a variety of selected items. Proceeds from the auction help support guild projects.
Visitors have a chance to vote on their favorite quilts in the following categories:
Large Quilts - Small Quilts - Challenge Quilts-Clothing - and more!
This year’s show will also feature guest lectures from Minnesota quilt authors and teachers Karen McTavish (Saturday at 11a.m. and 2 p.m.) and Sandi Irish (Sunday at 1 p.m.). The admission fee covers the cost of the lectures but is first-come first-serve as seating room allows.
Admission to the quilt show is $5 and includes admittance to the guest lecture on the day of attendance; children under 4 are admitted free. Lunch is available for purchase from Hudson girls’ swim team parents.
Proceeds from this year's guild-sponsored raffle quilt, "Pieceful Garden," will go to local food shelves. Raffle tickets are available for $1 and can be purchased before and during the show. The raffle drawing will be Sunday at 3 p.m.
Guild members, made up of about 100 individuals, meet regularly on the third Saturday of each month at 9:30 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Hudson for a formal business meeting that is followed by a program with guest speakers or group projects
